Surgical Workshop

Objective: This workshop will develop your interest in surgery and help you to learn surgical techniques: Knotting, Suturing and Anastomoses.
 

Methodology: The workshop was conducted in the following  phases :
Lecture phase: At  08:30 AM a lecture on the basics of surgery was conducted by Prof. Matmuratov Abdulla Abdiraimovich, for students to understand the theory required for the workshop ahead. 

Practice phase: At 09:00 AM the participants were divided into five groups and sent to different rooms. This ensured better coordination and efficient relaying of information between the instructors and participants. 
The Practice was divided into 3 part.


Knotting: In the first 20 minutes students learned and practised different types of surgical knots.
 

Sutures: In the next 40 minutes, The instructors demonstrated sutures (interrupted and continuous) on Anti Slip Model Intestines then participants practiced on the model intestine presented to them.


Anastomoses: At 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM participants were taught about anastomoses with cattle intestine with proper surgical instruments and they got hands-on experience to learn it.
