Summer School "Ischemic Stroke: Learning to Save Lives"

Summer School at the International Higher School of Medicine, August 12-24, 2024

We invite you to be a part of our exciting and educational journey this summer at the Summer School on "Ischemic Stroke: Learning to Save Lives."

  • Location: Bishkek and Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan

Why Attend?
This summer school is designed for undergraduate and graduate students who wish to explore the dynamic world of medicine and health care related to ischemic stroke.

Our program offers:

  • Hands-On Workshops: Immerse yourself in interactive sessions and practical workshops guided by highly-qualified medical experts and educators.
  • Practical Medical Experience: Gain hands-on exposure to real patients under the guidance of experienced mentor doctors.
  • Cultural Immersion: Experience cultural enrichment through our program in Bishkek, Issyk Kul, and Zhety-Oguz.
  • Certificate of Participation: Receive a certificate acknowledging your participation, along with 3 ECTS credit points.

IHSM provides comfortable dormitories with separate accommodations for men and women during your stay in Bishkek and Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.

Kyrgyzstan's natural beauty, cultural heritage, and warm hospitality make it a captivating destination for travelers and a unique country in the heart of Central Asia. Kyrgyzstan, due to its location in the heart of Central Asia, always had the utmost importance on the Silk Road. The cultural program of Summer School along the Silk Road is a great opportunity to visit the places where once were rows of caravans with unique products, to learn about the culture and values ​​of the people, to see the buildings of the Middle Ages, as well as enjoy the unique mountain landscapes.

Provision of Food and Lodging
Participation fee includes all the following services:

  • Lodging throughout the duration of the program; 
  • Inter-city transportation; 
  • ⁠Coffee breaks as well as welcome and farewell dinners

Important Information:

  • Participants who require medication should bring it with them, ideally with the original packaging.
  • If you have any allergies or dietary intolerances, please inform us during the registration process.
  • August in Bishkek can be quite hot, so please monitor the weather forecast and make appropriate preparations.

Selection criteria:

  • Motivation letter (max. 300 words)
  • CV or Resume

Application period: from 30.01.2024 to 27.05.2024

The Programme fee is determined as follows:
Central Asian countries - US $200
Russian Federation - US $300
Non-CIS countries (Europe, USA) - US $600

*Payment should be implemented on the first day of the Summer School Program. Our Organizing Committee will be happy to assist participants with flight arrangements and accommodation if required.

We also recommend asking the international office of your home university for financial aid.

Certificate: Upon successful completion of the summer school the participants will receive a certificate stating the topic of the course and the number of 3 ECTS obtained.
