Congratulations on your admission to the International Higher School of Medicine and welcome to the Kyrgyz Republic! The following guide is intended to help students apply for their student visas and subsequently enter the Kyrgyz Republic to begin their academic degree programs. 

If you are currently outside of the Kyrgyz Republic or stay in the Kyrgyz Republic on a student visa status, please communicate to the International Cooperation Center (office in the Central Campus, 1F Intergelpo street, Bishkek) for further assistance by mail: icc@ism.edu.kg, by telephone: +996702237090 (WhatsApp).

Students or international staff eligible for a Kyrgyz entry visa must communicate with the Foreign partners cooperation sector (ism.bonafide@gmail.com) or the country's official representatives.

TYPES OF VISA

  • Single-entry visa from 1 to 12 months;
  • Multiple-entry visa from 1 to 12 months;
  • Exit for 10 days.

Pay attention to:

  • Passport validity period;
  • Your contract validity.

VISA WILL BE ISSUED IN LINE WITH THE VALIDITY OF PASSPORT AND CONTRACT!!

HOW TO APPLY FOR A VISA OFFLINE

You need to submit:

1. Passport (valid for at least 9 months);
2. Fill out the visa application forms:

  • visa application form (VISA APPLICATION FORM)

3. One copy of the current visa (make for yourself a copy of the visa, since when you submit a copy for a new one, the old visa is not returned);

4. 2 photos (size 3x4 cm) on a white background and in non-white clothes that do not blend with the white background;

5. 1 copy of the contract (agreement between the IHSM and the student). Check the date of your contract! The visa will be done in accordance with the expiration date of your contract.

6. Certificate of the fee payment from your agent (only for Educational Advisor students);

7. Statement of the residence:

1) If you live in the IHSM hostel, you must provide:

  • Certificate of residence, which must be obtained from the hostel manager (only for Educational Advisor students);

2) If you live in a private apartment (rent; live with friends or relatives) – the owner of this apartment is obliged to register you at the address of the apartment! Before you move into an apartment, sign a rental agreement and pay rent, check with the apartment owner whether he is ready to register you regularly at the apartment address and whether he has all the necessary documents. Discuss in advance with the owner of the apartment about the availability of documents, namely:

  • Notarized agreement from the owner for temporary registration at the place of residence (Нотариально заверенное согласие от собственника, на временную регистрацию по месту жительства);
  • Copy of the technical passport cover of the apartment/house (Копия обложки технического паспорта квартиры/дома);
  • Copy of the owner passport of the apartment/house (Копия паспорта собственника квартиры/дома).

It is important to know: if you are registered at the address, but do not actually live there - this is a violation of the law!

HOW TO APPLY FOR A VISA ONLINE

Below is the set of required documents.
We request that you should send colored, properly scanned documents in JPEG format to the following email address: visa.documents@ism.edu.kg

  • Completed application form
    (it can be printed and scanned after filling out or printed in the
    application form);
  • Passport (valid for at least 9 months);
  • Scan of the current visa;
  • Scan of the photo. The photo must be on a white background and in non-white clothes that do not blend in with the white background; (the size must be greater than 60 kb);
  • Scan of the contract (agreement between IHSM and the student). Check the date of your contract! The visa will be issued in accordance with the date of conclusion of the contract;
  • Payment receipt. Payment must be done directly by cash to ICC Office and attached to relevant documents.

HOW TO APPLY FOR ENTRY E-VISA

You need to submit the admission letter, valid passport, and the photo to the official representative of your country.

We request that you should send colored, properly scanned documents in JPEG:

  1. Passport (valid for at least 9 months); 
  2. The photo must be on a white background and in non-white clothes not blending with the white background; (size must be more then 60 kb);

IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW!

Strict compliance with the requirements for visa documents (size and quality of the photo, correct and readable completion of the application form, tuition fees) will contribute to a positive and timely consideration of your visa application.

DEADLINES

You should submit a visa extension request no later than 30 days prior to your current visa expiry date.

ARRIVAL IN THE KYRGYZ REPUBLIC

Welcome to the Kyrgyz Republic!

When entering the Kyrgyz Republic, it is necessary to check:

  1. Check your passport to make sure that the boarder officer has put an entry stamp indicating that you entered on a certain date, in a certain visa status (for example: S, W, FF)
  2. Print out the e-visa form or keep an electronic copy on your phone, as you will need it for other purposes.

ABOUT THE PROCEDURE FOR REGISTRATION OF FOREIGN STUDENTS, EMPLOYEES AND GUESTS OF THE IHSM

Issues of the legal status and registration of foreign citizens and stateless persons in the Kyrgyz Republic are regulated by the following basic laws and regulations: 

  • The Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On External Migration" of July 17, 2000;
  • Resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Registration of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons on the Territory of the Kyrgyz Republic” dated December 19, 2016 No. 689 (as amended by the Resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic dated September 3, 2019 No. 449);
  • Other laws and regulations, as well as technical and administrative regulations of local authorities in the field of migration

Failure to comply with the established registration rules is a violation of the laws of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Internal Regulations of the IHSM and may entail disciplinary and administrative liability in the form of a FINE in accordance with the Code of the Kyrgyz Republic on Administrative Responsibility. Please pay more attention to registration!

ATTENTION!  In accordance with the law, all foreign citizens must be registered (registered) strictly at the address of actual residence!

You must register your arrival at the International Cooperation Center within (depending on the country of the citizen) 5 days (for citizens of Pakistan) or 30 days (for citizens of India) from the date of entry into the country, otherwise you will pay a FINE. The following documents must be provided for arrival registration:

1) If you live in the IHSM hostel, you must provide:

  • Certificate of residence, which must be obtained from the hostel manager (for Educational Advisor students only);

Please take your passport and visa documents to register in the ICC office. If you arrived with FF dependents who accompanied you to the Kyrgyz Republic, please provide their visa documents and passports too. The ICC staff will provide important information related to immigration and answer any of your questions.
